It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Enough said. Everywhere you go are twinkling lights, sparkling garland, bright smiles as we all anticipate our upcoming Christmas holiday. Whether it be family and friends, excitement around seeing your children open their gifts or giving your time to those who need you most.

An exciting part of last year was being in church and singing Christmas songs to Jesus for His birthday. After all, we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior and give of ourselves because that's what He did for us; in the most humble and sacrificial way. A friend reminded me of the beauty and unconditional love God showed us by giving His only son and making him flesh. What a beautiful way to display his love for us... mankind, who are basically as sinful as anything, and God loving us anyway.

This makes the season meaningful and reason to celebrate. Knowing that love is what it's all about. Loving each other, our neighbor, a stranger, the list goes on and on.

Whether in a wreath, a festive table, an open sleigh, lit candles, familiar carols, snowflakes, a cup of cocoa, and just about all the splendor that lay before us.... these are the gifts!
Lord, thank you for reminding us how beautiful your season is when we celebrate You.
