Christmas Begins (officially)

I'm really excited... okay, very, very, very much so! Why, you wonder? It's officially Christmas season! This means that I pretty much hibernate and watch Christmas movies and deck the halls - and every other space - in my house. I wait ALL year long for decorating, checking out blogs for ideas, crocheting holiday gifts, even driving in our neighborhood to check out other people's decorations (which means peeking through their windows as we drive along to get a glimpse of their Christmas trees!) I know, I'm a bit stalker-ish like that.

I have a long list of things to do, which consists of cutting out snowflakes and stringing them along, as well as making garland out of old books. Not sure what I'll have time for since our daughter is quite rambunctious and tears apart everything I put up!

My management of Christmas is going along nicely, though... for our table centerpiece, I've placed felt underneath homemade trees, candles and a bundle of jute (did I mention that I love jute?) I made the trees last year out of holiday scrap paper and ribbon/yarn. So much fun and very interesting to decorate with. The idea came from a book I browsed at Michael's: The Handmade Home, www.thehandmadehome.net -- great inspiration!

Rather than place one item on the table, I decided to go with a literal 'runner' of decorations since I couldn't decide which I liked best. Actually, all of these things look better together than apart.

Dinner, anyone?

Having a ball!
